Comments: In 1850 his father moved to Indiana. They imigrated to Iowa in 1855 where
he took a claim and improved it, afterward trading it. He learned the
carpenter trade while young. He received an excellent education and
taught school several years. In 1865 he moved to Missouri where he
purchased one third interest in a large milling concern. He married
Rachel Johnson of Iowa in 1859, and had 12 children. Moved from
Stillwater Okla. to Jennings at time of opening of the strip.
