Husband:
Melesio Tijerina Flores Died: Father: Jesus Esquibel Flores Mother: Maria Rita Tijerina In researching the family of Melesio Flores and Francisca Soliz we have found through one of their sons: Manuel Flores and Hermelinda Garcia Trujillo that the family originated in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico. We have found bits and pieces of information on Melecio Flores, our great grandfather. As per several telephone calls to MaVictoria Flores Antimo. MaVictoria is the granddaughter of Melecio (born Abt. 1850). MaVictoria is the daughter of Manuel Soliz Flores. Manuel is the youngest child of Melecio Flores and Francisca Soliz. Manuel S. Flores married Hermelinda Garcia Trujillo. Hermelinda (born abt.1902) is 97 years old (in 1999). She recalls her husband Manuel telling her that his mother,Francisca Soliz Flores was a wonderful, loving mother. Also that Francisca was a very organized person and that she kept an immaculate home for her family. Hermelinda does not recall her husband saying much about his father, only that his father had died when he Manuel was young (maybe 15 years old). We calculated that it would have been around 1903. Manuel recalled that there was a hurricane or a big storm of sorts and his father died about then. So our search continues...as of 2/25/99. In an effort records of the Melecio Flores and Francisca Soliz Flores, we started with our grandfather Estanislado S. Flores, who was the eldest son of Melecio Flores and Francisca Soliz. By trying to find the birth and baptism records of Estanislado Soliz Flores. The Civil Registrars records were not started until 1859 in Mexico-(and the law was not enforced very strictly until around 1880). It was suggested that we start with seaching the parrochial records. Records are found in the nearest Catholic church to the place of birth. To find Candela, Coahuila, Mexico, the computer in the genealogical library "send" us to a parish in Sabinas, Coahuila, a parish called paroquia de San Carlos, but there were "Missing records" a 10 year gap.
